Great Iowa Treasure Hunt Provides Opportunity to Claim Misplaced Funds

Iowans are being reminded by the State Treasurer to check the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt for unclaimed items. More than $71-million has been added in the most recent reporting cycle with nearly 550,000 properties. According to the Treasurer’s Office, that is more than 10-times the previous record set in 2024 with more than $6 million.

The Great Iowa Treasure Hunt provides Iowans a way to claim items like a lost check, bank account, or utility refund. An estimated one in seven Iowans have funds in the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt.

To see if you have an item listed with misplaced funds, visit the website and search your name. If there is one listed, you can file a claim. A link can be found with this story at https://www.greatiowatreasurehunt.gov/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery…
