A Socorro ISD family is speaking out after a former district bus driver was sentenced in a case caught on a school bus camera last year. The driver pleaded guilty this month to indecency with a child involving a 10-year-old girl and received probation instead of prison, a punishment relatives say feels far too light. The family says they hope going public will push other children to report abuse and spur schools to take a hard look at their safety practices.
As reported by CBS4local, 52-year-old Rodolfo Laureano pleaded guilty in November to indecency with a child by sexual contact and was sentenced to 10 years of probation and 300 hours of community service.
