Grateful for another Thanksgiving, an ALS patient reflects on living with terminal disease

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -Thanksgiving for the Jeansonne family this year was hosted at Brian Jeansonne’s parents’ home. That meant Brian’s mom’s gumbo would be on the table — and everyone was excited.

I first met Brian and his family on Thanksgiving 2024. Brian is living with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. As the holiday approached this year, I wanted to reconnect and see how he’s been doing. We agreed to catch up over the holiday.
