A Nebraska man tried to elude Dallas County Deputy Sheriff’s early Friday, including running without headlamps on a U.S. highway and traveling on the wrong side of the roadway on a state highway, before he was detained.
Jared Thomas Smith, 33, of 3822 S. Broadway, Omaha, Nebraska, was charged with eluding, harassment of a public official or employee, fifth-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, speeding, driving on the wrong side of a two-lane highway, failure to use headlamps when required, failure to obey a traffic control device and no valid driver’s license.
The pursuit began about 2:45 a.m. Friday in the 31000 block of N Avenue in Adel, where a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff observed a Chrysler 300 with Nebraska plates traveling at 67 mph in a 55 mph zone…
