Springfield, MO– Travelers returning from the Thanksgiving holiday could face biting cold and light snow through Monday night as a clipper system moves into southwest Missouri. Wind chills as low as 8°F are expected by early Sunday, and a 30–50% chance of snow lingers into Monday, with minor accumulations possible.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, gusty winds up to 40 mph will push across the Ozarks through Saturday night, dropping wind chills across Springfield, Joplin, and Rolla into the single digits and low teens Sunday morning. Winds will ease by Sunday evening, but colder air will stay in place through early next week…
