MCFRS Responds to Friday Night House Fire; One Resident and Dog Displaced

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire in Silver Spring on Friday night, with all occupants safely escaping and no reported injuries, according to updates from MCFRS Assistant Chief David Pazos.

The incident was first reported around 9:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of Randolph Road, where firefighters arrived to find fire visible at the rear of a Cape Cod-style single-family home and flames extending into the interior. Pazos confirmed that all occupants were already outside and uninjured when crews reached the scene.

By 9:47 p.m., firefighters were “opening up the rear exterior walls while extinguishing hot spots on the inside of the home.” The American Red Cross was requested to assist one adult resident and a dog, both displaced as a result of the fire. Traffic was diverted in the area during the response. The cause of the fire remains under investigation…
