Reno, Nevada – Western Nevada residents should prepare for a wintry finish to Thanksgiving weekend, as bitter morning temperatures and gusty winds settle in from Sunday through early Monday. Areas around Reno, Carson City, and the Sierra valleys could see lows dip into the teens, with wind chills making it feel even colder.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, Sunday will be the coldest day across the region due to increased northeast ridge winds. Daytime highs will remain in the 40s and low 50s, but gusts will pick up especially in the Sierra valleys—including South Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, and Mammoth Lakes—where early mornings may feel near freezing.
