While no big storms are in the forecast, the weather pattern is changing allowing for slider type systems to move in here. Over the weekend, a ridge of high pressure will build in the ocean allowing for systems to sneak into Nevada from the north. The pattern looks like a slide, with a ridge in the ocean and a trough to the east. This allows for little waves to slide down the eastern border of the ridge. A slider type system will move into northeast Nevada early Sunday, giving the higher terrain of Elko County up to a few inches of snow. Roadways could get up to an inch.
