SAN JOSE, CA – A bustling Black Friday at Westfield Valley Fair Mall in San Jose took a frightening turn today when a shooting left three individuals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Police are investigating the incident, which they believe was an isolated event and not an active shooter situation.

According to the San Jose Police Department (SJPD), officers swiftly responded to reports of a shooting, working diligently to clear the mall and ensure public safety. All three victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

“Officers are still diligently clearing the mall,” the SJPD stated on X. “In total, 3 victims were transported to local hospitals with injuries that have been determined to be non-life threatening. Please continue to avoid the area.”

San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan echoed these sentiments, posting on X that “there is no ongoing threat to the community.” He added, “This is not the news I wanted to share with you this holiday weekend.
