The National Center for Civil and Human Rights features immersive experiences and exhibits about the American Civil Rights Movement, which tell the story of human rights struggles. The center, which closed early spring for renovations, reopened Nov. 8 after significant changes.
Chief Program Officer Kama Pierce helped lead the center’s expansion. In the planning process, various expansion styles were considered to ensure old exhibits remained consistent with new ones.
“When we began the process of brainstorming new ideas, a large factor that contributed to our decisions was if the new exhibits would have the same effect as our current ones,” Pierce said. “Although every exhibit will include different information, our team aimed to create a cohesive look that was displayed throughout the entire museum.”…
