Community discussion to share the findings of the Scajaquada Creek Environmental Improvements Study

Scajaquada Creek is a 13-mile stream of water (watershed of 29 square miles) that emanates from the Town of Lancaster, then passes through most of the Town of Cheektowaga, to an underground culvert, before winding up at Forest Lawn, and then finally emptying into the Niagara River. What was once a beautiful stream of water and natural community resource has, over the years, been greatly compromised. And while there’s nothing that can be done about the unfortunate culvert, the creek can still benefit from a wide array of cleanups, starting with the source.
