Nearly 200 animals find homes thanks to Cincinnati community adoption event

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – 186 animals have new homes thanks to the fifth annual Black Friday adoption event at Cincinnati Animal CARE.

Community engagement manager Lisa Colina said 103 dogs, 80 cats, two rabbits, and one snake were adopted, beating last year’s total of 146.

Adoptions were just 99 cents (plus licensing fees), but the shelter put all interested adopters through its usual matchmaking process.

“We meet with potential adopters, learn about what their home life is like, talk to them about what might work best for them and their home life,” Colina said. “Some of the things that are most commonly asked by a potential adopter are, ‘Are they good with kids?’ ‘Are they house trained?’ ‘Have they lived in a foster home before?’”…
