3 holiday traffic deaths reported in Georgia

After going 36 hours without a death, Georgia is now reporting its first traffic fatalities of this Thanksgiving holiday period. According to the state Department of Public Safety, at least two people died on Georgia’s roads Friday, in Newton County and Albany.

The holiday traffic count started at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26. Since then, state troopers have investigated at least 169 accidents, 54 of which resulted in injuries.

Last Thanksgiving, GSP investigated 684 crashes, 349 injuries, and 17 deaths.
