ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Black Friday shopping can be quite intimidating for many, especially when it comes to safety concerns. The larger crowds can serve as a breeding ground for theft and other crimes, but with an increased police presence, the security officers at the Mall in Greece Ridge are confident shoppers will be safe for the holidays.
“We’re invested in making this a safe, comfortable, and family-oriented environment for people to come and just relax and do, do what they came to do, and, you know, and not have to worry about anything else,” Jim Reed, the mall’s Security Manager, said.
The mall in Greece Ridge has stepped up its security measures over the past few years in preparation for Black Friday. This year, along with additional officers patrolling the grounds, the mall enlisted the help of the Rochester Police Department.
