The City of Sacramento has made public its weekly progress in the fight against homelessness, according to a report on the Sacramento City Express from November 26. In a seven-day timeframe from November 17 through 23, the city’s Incident Management Team (IMT) tallied up its initiatives to provide assistance to the homeless population, record complaints, and manage waste related to encampments.
Digging into the numbers, the city recorded 504 calls to its 311 customer service about homeless individuals over the course of the week. Interestingly, these calls spawned 1,995 cases, a figure that surpasses the number of actual calls, due to the fact that a single call can trigger multiple cases to be filed. This distinction in data represents an effort, which began on July 28, 2025, to deliver a clearer picture to the residents of Sacramento about how the City is addressing the homelessness crisis and to reflect enhancements made to the 311 reporting system.
The IMT closed 2,203 cases, meaning the reported issue was resolved, compliance was achieved, or the matter was no longer present during inspection.
