Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) rescued a woman from an overnight house fire in White Oak early Saturday morning, after she became trapped inside her burning home.
According to MCFRS Assistant Chief David Pazos, firefighters were dispatched around 2:35am to the 11800 block of Gordon Rd. for a reported house fire with one occupant trapped. The sole adult female resident remained on the phone with 911, telling dispatchers she was mobility limited and unable to escape as flames spread in her bedroom.
MCFRS crews reached the home quickly and performed a successful rescue. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A later update from Pazos confirmed that there were no working smoke alarms inside the home at the time of the fire…
