New York State Police are facing a growing scandal after officials allegedly misused credentials to access VIP areas at the Ryder Cup — and may have distributed dozens of free passes to friends and family, according to the Times Union.
Superintendent Steven James confirmed an internal probe has now been handed to the state inspector general. Two top commanders, R. Christopher West and Darrin Pitkin, are expected to resign. Other high-ranking officers remain under review.
