Work underway on sewer line repairs

A Brandon company has begun work to replace two collapsed sewer lines in Clinton, but the construction caused some traffic snarls on one of the city’s busiest streets. One lane of southbound Pinehaven Drive was closed from south of the Natchez Trace to Northside Drive on November 6 so Thornton Construction could dig up the broken concrete pipe and install a new PVC sewer line.

“Unfortunately, these issues rarely occur in convenient locations,” says Public Works Director Phillip Lilley. “Initial attempts were made to clear the blockage in hopes of avoiding this project. If those efforts had been successful, we could have lined the existing pipe without excavation.”
