Nonprofit alerts affected individuals in October of data breach
A county organization announced this week that the personal information of some of its members had inadvertently been released publicly last summer.
Yamhill Community Care, a nonprofit which manages health care for Medicaid recipients in Yamhill and parts of Polk and Washington counties, said the data breach occurred Aug. 29 when two financial reports were posted online. The reports contained member identification information, and the affected individuals were notified by mail in October.
“Although we believed the personal information had been removed, it was still viewable,” the organization said in a Nov. 25 release. “The reports have now been taken down.”…
