Flint — The gym at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint was alive with the sound of basketballs being dribbled and the occasional swish of a basket being dunked as students and staff welcomed Flint native and University of Michigan-Ann Arbor freshman starting guard Trey McKenney to their after school program on Nov. 20.
McKenney donated $7,500 in gift cards to give back to families in Flint as part of his Name, Image, and Likeness deal. The cards were purchased from the Flushing Kroger store.
“The holidays can be some of the toughest days for families from Flint. I just want to give back and not forget the place that I come from,” said McKenney. He adds that it was important to give back because it will also bring families together…
