Woman hospitalized after snowplow crash on I-96

WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman is in the hospital after the car she was travelling in hit a plow.

A pickup truck driving eastbound on I-96 near 24th Avenue in Wright Township clipped an Ottawa County plow truck around 11 a.m. Saturday while attempting to pass it. The truck then drove into the median guard wires, Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies said in a release.

The truck’s driver, a 37-year-old Coopersville man, was not injured, but his passenger, a 36-year-old woman also from Coopersville, sustained serious injuries. Deputies said she was taken to a nearby hospital. The plow driver, 40, was also uninjured.
