Alamance Community College officials held a swearing-in ceremony for the community college’s new chief of police/director of public safety, Charles “Chuck” Evitt.
Evitt, who was sworn in earlier this month, has more than three decades of experience in law enforcement and public safety. He has previously worked for the Morganton department of public safety, the Reidsville police department, and the Bald Head Island department of public safety, according to ACC officials.
“Chief Evitt is a seasoned law enforcement professional with a heart for service and community,” ACC president Dr. Ken Ingle said following the ceremony. “His extensive experience and commitment to community policing align perfectly with our college’s mission to ensure a safe, welcoming, and student-centered environment.”…
