PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — For those who have been longing for some winter temperatures, you have got your wish. On Saturday morning, PTI recorded a low of 20°, which is well below our average morning temperature of 36° for this time of year. Below normal temperatures look to be the trend as we move throughout the week.
Overnight tonight, into your Sunday morning, temperatures will dip into the upper 20s to near 30° and warm to only the middle 40s on Sunday with mostly cloudy skies. An isolated sprinkle cannot be ruled out early in the day, but most of the area will stay dry.
The mountains have the potential for some freezing rain overnight tonight into early Sunday. A winter weather advisory has been issued for the mountain counties and anticipation of up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation. The Piedmont will be too warm to experience any winter precipitation…
