Kalamazoo art market hosts over 50 makers, a cider bar

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Next weekend, visitors to the Park Trades Center in downtown Kalamazoo can attend the fifth annual Art Mart, a community art sale and holiday shopping event.

“It’s so important to support your local community,” Erica Bradshaw, co-director at The Starlite Collective, said. “Get to know your local artists.”

From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 5, shoppers can enjoy an opening day at Art Mart featuring a local author book signing, food from Berries and Boards Charcuterie, a free gourmet apple cider bar and a studio open house.

“We’ve easily gotten 300 shoppers just on Friday night,” Bradshaw said.

On Dec. 6 and Dec. 7, shoppers can explore over 50 local makers and artists from noon to 8 p.m., and visitors are encouraged to pick and choose items before heading to a single checkout at the front of the market, rather than pay artist by artist…
