Buy Nothing Day Coat Exchange provides winter gear to Rhode Islanders in need

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — The annual Buy Nothing Day Coat Exchange returned on Friday to share winter gear to Rhode Islanders in need.

The Buy Nothing Day Coat Exchange was held at the Rhode Island State House lawn facing the Providence Place mall.

The coat exchange was held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“This is year is especially cold so it’s a special one,” Buy Nothing Day Coat Exchange Director Lauren Testoni said. “This could be any one of us. A twist of fate could leave any one of us needing a coat. So it’s so important that we have these events and we come together as a community to help people who are in need.”…
