HONOLULU (KHON2) – Holiday cheer is lighting up downtown Honolulu today as Honolulu City Lights officially opens for the season.

The celebration starts with a City Lights block party on Punchbowl Street from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., where families can enjoy food, music, and activities throughout the evening.
At 6:15 p.m., the Public Workers’ Electric Light Parade begins at A‘ala Park and travels through downtown. Then at 6:30 p.m., Mayor Rick Blangiardi will light the Christmas tree and holiday displays at Honolulu Hale.
Visitors can also check out the City and County of Honolulu Employee Christmas Tree Exhibition, a wreath contest in the Lane Gallery, live music at the Frank F. Fasi Civic Grounds and photos with Santa at Mission Memorial Auditorium.
