Senator Cory Booker Marries Alexis Lewis in Double Ceremony
New Jersey Senator Cory Booker has officially tied the knot with his fiancée, Alexis Lewis, in two intimate ceremonies held in meaningful locations for the couple. The couple, who have been together for a year and a half and share a home in Washington, D.C., exchanged vows in Newark, New Jersey, on Monday, November 24th, followed by a second celebration in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, November 29th. They publicly shared their marital bliss through joint Instagram posts on Sunday, November 30th.
“Overflowing with gratitude. We said ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us – Cory’s beloved Newark and Alexis’s hometown of Washington, D.C. – first at the courthouse, then with our families,” the couple captioned their posts, adding, “Hearts full and so grateful.”
A Blind Date That Changed Everything
The love story of Senator Booker and Ms. Lewis, 38, began in May 2024, when they were introduced by a mutual friend.
Their blind date, which reportedly lasted over five hours, saw Senator Booker successfully persuade Ms. Lewis to postpone her flight to Los Angeles for a second date.
That “even more magical” follow-up included dinner at a Newark tapas restaurant and a Broadway musical.
The couple moved in together in April and have since fostered a dog named Cooke.
