BEAUREGARD, Ala. (WRBL) – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Opelika man in connection with a deadly shooting early Sunday morning in the Beauregard community.
According to investigators on November 30, 2025, deputies responded to a 1:03 a.m. 911 call reporting a possible shooting at a residence in the 100 block of Lee Road 41. When deputies arrived, they found Marcus Jacquez Strickland, 43, of Opelika, deceased inside the home.
Detectives quickly identifying David Lavar Preston, 44, of Opelika, as a suspect. Authorities say Preston and Strickland were acquaintances, but there is no indication the two are related…
