Urgent snowstorm warning in place for Michigan with whopping 20 inches expected

A snowstorm warning is in place for Michigan, with snowfall expected to range from 5 to 20 inches in some parts of the state. Travel plans are likely to be disrupted, as the National Weather Service advises locals to avoid travel unless necessary.

The NWS expected snowfall forecasts for Michigan from Friday, November 28, through 7 a.m. Monday, December 1, shows some parts of the state could see up to 20 inches of snow. This includes Gaylord and Sault Ste. Marie, while in metro Detroit, including Detroit and Pontiac, 9 inches of snow is likely.

The snowstorm comes as temperatures are starting to plummet across much of the U.S., with numbers not seen as low since last February.
