The City of Madison has declared a snow emergency to support snowplowing efforts. Alternate side parking rules are now in effect citywide, including the Snow Emergency Zone. These rules apply nightly from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Residents should check which side of the street they park on to avoid fines and towing.
On the night of November 29, 2025, into the morning of November 30, vehicles must be parked on the side with even house numbers. On the following night, November 30 into December 1, vehicles should be parked on the odd-numbered side. This schedule allows plows to clear the streets more efficiently.
Violating these parking rules can result in a $60 fine. If a vehicle is towed, there is an additional $115 towing fee. Residents should also follow all posted parking signs. For updates, they can call the winter parking hotline at 608-261-9111…
