ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of Albuquerque’s most beloved holiday traditions, the River of Lights, starts Saturday. With this event comes increased security and safety measures in place for the month-long celebration.
Beginning tomorrow, there will be much more vehicle and pedestrian traffic as people make their way to the River of Lights. Albuquerque police have been preparing for this event and have shared some measures to ensure everyone’s safety.
“We also encourage the drivers also be aware that it is a congested area. We want you to watch for pedestrians as well as they’re walking to get into the park system. Everybody keep their heads on the swivel, keep it safe this year,” said Lt. Ryan Stone with Albuquerque police…
