Cripple Creek mine structures to illuminate for holidays

CRIPPLE CREEK/VICTOR, Colo. (KXRM) — Starting Saturday, Nov. 29, historic mine structures in Cripple Creek and Victor will be illuminated for the holidays.

Every year for the last 26 years, the giant headframes in Cripple Creek and Victor, leftover from the 1890s gold mining days, have been illuminated with sparkling lights to celebrate the holiday season. In addition to lights, the headframes will be decorated with holiday ornaments, wreaths, snowmen, and toy soldiers.

Those looking to visit during the lighting are encouraged to take a self-guided driving tour, with the best viewing at dusk and after dark from Highway 67 and Teller County Road 81…
