Trafficker sentenced to 3-15 years in prison

A convicted methamphetamine trafficker said the fentanyl he had in his vehicle when he was arrested for the second time in four years in shockingly similar circumstances belonged to his girlfriend.

Reno resident Christopher George Zahradnik, 42, said he took the fentanyl so she wouldn’t use it without him present. He told District Judge Tod Young that she would use the fentanyl, and he would use methamphetamine, standing by with a dose of Narcan should she overdose.

Zahradnik was sentenced to 3-15 years in prison for trafficking 5.9 ounces of methamphetamine and a simultaneous sentence of 12-30 months for possession of the fentanyl…
