Columbus Firefighters Respond to Multiple Home and Chimney Fires Amid Cold, Windy Conditions

The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) responded to several fires on November 27 and 28, 2025. Cold temperatures and strong winds made firefighting more difficult.

On November 27, crews went to a house fire in the 3000 block of East 26th Street. Firefighters first tried to fight the fire from inside but switched to a defensive approach as conditions worsened.

The fire was brought under control. No injuries were reported, but the house was badly damaged. The cause of the fire is not known…
