DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – World AIDS Day (WAD) is observed annually on Dec. 1 to bring global attention to the HIV epidemic.
The Public Health Dayton and Montgomery County said the day increases public awareness, decreases stigma and helps in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) data for 2024, at least 40 million people worldwide are living with HIV. Over 630,000 people died from HIV-related causes, and 1.3 were newly infected in 2024…
