Durham Welcomes New City Council Members in Inaugural Ceremony on December 1

The City of Durham is gearing up to usher in its new City Council members at an official Swearing-In Ceremony. Citizens are invited to witness the transition of local governance as the council welcomes fresh faces to lead the charge. In a social media announcement, the City invited the community to join the event, which is scheduled for December 1 at 7 p.m. in Durham City Hall.

An update on the City of Durham, NC Government Facebook page called for the public to be a part of this significant occasion. The ceremony will serve to both honor outgoing City Council members DeDreana Freeman and Mark-Anthony Middleton, and to officially inaugurate newcomers Matt Kopac representing Ward 1, Shanetta Burris for Ward 2, Chelsea Cook for Ward 3, alongside Mayor Leonardo Williams to “help guide Durham forward.”
