Duval School Board to vote on combining schools in Mayport, Eastside

The futures of four underused Duval County elementary schools could be decided by School Board votes Dec. 1 on consolidating them as two schools in Mayport and the core city’s Eastside.

Schools in both neighborhoods are scheduled for decisions that would take effect in the 2026-2027 school year, although board Vice Chair April Carney has told members she’s exploring federal funding that could affect one of the pairings, the proposed consolidation of Anchor Academy Elementary and Mayport Elementary.
