‘We prayed for God to calm the storm’: Mulberry men say they are grateful to be alive following 20 rigorous hours lost at sea

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Three out of four Mulberry men who spent nearly 24 hours stranded after their boat capsized are describing their survival as nothing short of God’s work.

Pastor Dennis Woods of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Auburndale, along with his uncle Clarence Woods, son-in-law Cris Harding Sr., and grandson Cris Harding Jr., were rescued last Tuesday morning after clinging to their overturned 25-foot catamaran for roughly 20 hours.

Woods and both Harding Jr. and Sr. recounted the moments at the church service Sunday afternoon.
