RICHMOND, Va. — Clouds will thicken across the area overnight, with lows will mostly in the mid and upper 20s.
Sunday will be mainly cloudy. Some showers will be around, with highs in the upper 40s to near 50. With some precipitation moving in during the early morning hours well to the west, a little sleet or freezing drizzle is possible over the higher elevations. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from late tonight through noon Sunday near I-81.
Monday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid and upper 40s. Then our next storm will quickly spread rain into the area Monday night through much of Tuesday, with over an inch of rain possible. There will likely be some sleet and freezing rain at the start well north and west of Richmond, but this won’t last long. The higher elevations will have the highest threat for some wintry precipitation. It will be a cold day, with highs in the low 40s in the metro area, although areas north and west may stay in the 30s.
Drier air with plenty of sunshine returns Wednesday, with highs in the mid to upper 40s. The dry weather will continue Thursday, with highs near or slightly above 50. Then another system may bring a few showers later Friday, with a greater rain chance Friday night into Saturday…
