Raleigh Water responds to sanitary sewer overflow in Raleigh

Raleigh Water responded to a sanitary sewer overflow at about 3:41 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, near 1910 S. New Hope Road, Raleigh.

Staff had been notified of a sewer odor in the area. When utility responders arrived, they found an active overflow resulting from grease and rag buildup within the 8-inch gravity main. The responding staff took all reasonable steps to stop and mitigate the overflow’s impact as soon as they arrived.
