Petaluma teen arrested following hit-and-run death of pedestrian in Rohnert Park

Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old boy suspected of a hit-and-run crash that killed an older pedestrian in Rohnert Park Friday evening.

The arrest came after a search of the teen’s Petaluma home on Saturday, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said early Sunday morning. Police had searched for a black 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado, with a lift kit, chrome wheels and “significant front end damage.”

Lt. Adam Strongman said Friday that a motorist struck the man near the intersection of Snyder Lane and Capri Way at around 6:35 p.m. and then drove off. The man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene…
