Snow to wind down to flurries Sunday, cooler temps to follow

WEATHER STORY: We were on the northern edge of a fairly big system. Heavy snow hit places like Madison and Chicago. Minnesotans got light snow and the Snow Belt got moderate snow. On Sunday, the accumulating snow should be gone by lunch but flurries may fly lightly in the afternoon. As is December tradition, cooler air from Canada will now infiltrate the Northland. We will be cooler than normal for the week ahead but not as bitterly cold as sometimes happens. Next chance for light snow is Wednesday morning. Normals: 13-18 for lows, 25-30 for highs.

WEEKEND FORECAST AT A GLANCE: Minnesota – partly sunny with flurries, lows near 10, highs near 25, wind N 10-20 mph. Wisconsin – cloudy with flurries, lows near 20, highs in upper 20’s, wind N 10-20 mph. Upper Peninsula – cloudy with snow showers, lows in the upper teens, highs low 20’s, wind N 10-20 mph.

SUNDAY: Minnesota will be partly sunny and mostly dry except for flurries but WI and MI will be cloudier and snowier for a little longer until lunchtime. The high will be near 20. The wind will be WNW 5-15 mph…
