LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – After a rainy, chilly, and cloudy Sunday, relatively quiet conditions settle in for the night. Showers return after midnight and temperatures hold in the 40s with a mist blowing through Acadiana. Monday starts with cold temperatures and passing showers, but heavy rainfall sets up across the area during the afternoon and evening hours. Most areas could pick up an inch of rain or more. Highs Monday only reach into the 50s.
There will be a brief dry spell for the middle part of the week with cold temperatures settling in for Wednesday morning. Temperatures drop into the 30s and widespread frost looks likely. Leave extra time Wednesday morning to clear the frost from your windshield before your morning commute.
