Emergency alert system used in Bradenton targeted in cyberattack

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — The city of Bradenton sent out a warning Monday after the emergency alert system it uses was targeted in a cyberattack.

CodeRED, the emergency alert system the city uses, told city leaders that data from their older platform was accessed during a targeted cyberattack.

The company said the system has been taken offline nationwide.
