Candice Corbin began working for the City of Chesapeake in 2019 as an Accounts Payable Technician in the Human Services Department. She was new to municipal service and learned about teamwork and collaboration with her team. These experiences contributed to her professional development.
Since then, Candice moved to the Finance Department and now works as a Payroll Specialist. This position required her to learn about payroll cycles, regulations, and the details needed for accurate wage processing. She described her first year as a time of daily learning and growth.
