Survey asks for safety input on Indian Mounds Drive

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kent County Parks Department has opened a public survey to discuss potential safety changes to Indian Mounds Drive.

Indian Mounds Drive is a 4-mile stretch of road and green space along the Grand River that connects Grand Rapids, Wyoming and Grandville. The road also connects to the Kent Trails system and the Grand River Greenway.

The department says the goal is to make “the Indian Mounds Drive corridor safer, more welcoming and better connected for walking, biking, fishing and enjoying nature while protecting its cultural and ecological significance.”

In addition to asking questions about why people visit Indian Mounds Drive, the survey asks what people may want added, including better lighting, more signage and closing the road to motor vehicles…
