Get ready for some active winter weather as we kick off the first week of December.
Snow will overspread the area later tonight into Tuesday with some light accumulations a good bet by sunrise. A transition to a wintry mix and even plain is likely for parts of the area mid to late morning, especially south of the Turnpike.
Light to moderate accumulations are expected across much of Central PA. Higher snow amounts are expected along and northwest of I-81 where precipitation will likely remain all snow.
There is still some uncertainty with how far north the rain/snow line will go. If it struggles to move north more than expected, higher amounts will be expected further south.
An extremely cold airmass for early December standards will move drop in late week with highs struggling just to reach 30 degrees on Friday. There is another storm threat next week with more wintry weather possible…
