St. Petersburg asks residents to conserve water during extended drought

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — The City of St. Petersburg is asking residents to do their part to help conserve water during a period of drought in the region.

The Phase 1 Water Shortage Order goes into effect Monday, Dec. 1, and comes after “significantly below-normal rainfall and declining water resource levels,” the city said. The order was issued by the Southwest Florida Water Management District, which covers most Tampa Bay counties.
