Road-closure worker in Arlington threatened by wrong-way driver: Police

ARLINGTON COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Arlington County police arrested a man last Thursday after authorities said he threatened a Transportation Safety Specialist (TSS) who was working a road closure in Clarendon.

On Nov. 27, officers were called just after 1:13 a.m. to North Highland Street and North Hartford Street for a report of a TSS in need of backup. According to police, the specialist saw a driver heading the wrong direction through a marked cone pattern.

When he approached the vehicle, the driver allegedly began yelling threatening statements, then accelerated and stopped his car toward the TSS before driving off…
