Man found dead inside vacant Lafayette hotel that caught fire

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Firefighters found a man dead after tackling a two-alarm blaze at the vacant La Quinta Hotel in Lafayette.

The Lafayette Fire Department reported it was notified of the fire at 2100 NE Evangeline Thruway on Friday, November 28, a little before 11:30 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from the second floor. They managed to get the fire under control after about 30 minutes, but not before at least 10 rooms were damaged…
